LSE Announces Professor Amil Dasgupta and Professor Tom Gosling as the leadership team for the Sustainable Finance Initiative within the LSE Global School of Sustainability

Professor Amil Dasgupta (right) has been announced as the Academic Director of the Sustainable Finance Initiative. He has also been appointed as overall Lead for the Creating Sustainable Finance and Business Theme within the LSE’s Global School of Sustainability. Amil Dasgupta has been Professor of Finance at LSE since 2016. He is Director of the Financial Markets Group, the LSE’s flagship research centre in Finance, and has a distinguished research track record in the areas of financial markets, institutional investors, and corporate governance and regularly publishes in top academic journals. He is a Research Member at the European Corporate Governance Institute, research advisor to the Reserve Bank of India, and academic visitor to the Bank of England. 

Tom Gosling (left) has been appointed Professor in Practice within the Financial Markets Group and will support Professor Dasgupta as Director of the Sustainable Finance Initiative. Following 15 years as a Partner at PwC, where he established and led the firm’s executive compensation consulting practice, Tom returned to academia in 2020 where he focuses on sustainable finance and corporate governance. He is a member of the Financial Conduct Authority’s Sustainable Finance Advisory Committee, an Executive Fellow of the European Corporate Governance Institute, and a Director of the Financial Management Association.
