This event features a fireside chat with Henry Philipson on measuring and improving ESG performance in early-stage companies. Henry Philipson is President of ESG_VC and Marketing and Communications Director at Beringea.
This lecture series focuses on the role of finance in the entrepreneurial journey. The aim is to improve our understanding of the role of early-stage financiers in the start-up and scale-up of new ventures. Discussions will touch upon several research topics like the types of constraints that limit the start and growth of new companies, and the role of specialized financiers, as well as policy, in mitigating them.

Henry Philipson leads marketing and communications for Beringea in the UK, working closely with the investment and fundraising teams. He also advises the portfolio on PR and communications, and leads the Beringea Scale-Up Academy, an annual series of workshops and webinars for portfolio companies. Henry has also led Beringea’s work on ESG, including co-founding ESG_VC, an industry initiative to help portfolio companies improve their ESG performance.
Juanita González-Uribe is Associate Professor in Finance at the London School of Economics. Her research focuses on entrepreneurship, private equity and innovation. Her work spans different regions including Latin America, the UK, and the USA.
