This event features a fireside chat with Tom Adeyoola, centring on the entrepreneurial journey after exit and beyond. The discussion will cover various topics, including why former founders can excel as board members, board design in early-stage ventures, and the importance of non-executive directors.

This lecture series focuses on the role of finance in the entrepreneurial journey. The aim is to improve our understanding of the role of early-stage financiers in the start-up and scale-up of new ventures. Discussions will touch upon several research topics like the types of constraints that limit the start and growth of new companies, and the role of specialized financiers, as well as policy, in mitigating them.

This public event is delivered in-person only, is free and open to all, with no ticket or pre-registration required. Attendance will be on a first-come, first-served basis, within the limits of the venue capacity.

Tom Adeyoola profile photo

Tom Adeyoola is an experienced entrepreneur, executive and board director across creative industry companies, private to public. He grew his fashion technology startup Metail to exit raising £25m, and as a NED has taken Elvie from inception to Series B and Verco through 3x revenue growth to acquisition. He now sits on various boards, including Channel 4 and leading independent school St. Paul's and is actively involved in investing and policy, co-authoring the Labour Startup Review.

Juanita Gonzalez-Uribe

Juanita González-Uribe is Associate Professor in Finance at the London School of Economics. Her research focuses on entrepreneurship, private equity and innovation. Her work spans different regions including Latin America, the UK, and the USA.
