This event features a fireside chat with Sarah Finegan, investor at Antler—the World’s Day Zero Investor, on the keys behind successful entrepreneurial teams.
This lecture series focuses on the role of finance in the entrepreneurial journey. The aim is to improve our understanding of the role of early-stage financiers in the start-up and scale-up of new ventures. Discussions will touch upon several research topics like the types of constraints that limit the start and growth of new companies, and the role of specialized financiers, as well as policy, in mitigating them.
Sarah Finegan is an investor at Antler in the UK. She recently moved to London from Berlin, where she was a key part of Antler’s operations in DACH & Eastern Europe. Embracing her passion for entrepreneurship and tech innovation, she continuously screens and invests in early-stage ventures in the region.
Sarah is deeply committed to reshaping the venture capital landscape. She actively contributes to Proud Ventures, a grassroots collective of LGBTQ+ investors in the UK, and co-hosts the popular podcast series, "At the Cap Table", spotlighting leading female investment trailblazers across Europe.
Sarah brings extensive experience from her previous roles in finance, early-stage technology companies, and venture capital.
Juanita González-Uribe is a professor and academic researcher at the London School of Economics (LSE) in entrepreneurship, finance, and innovation with over 10 years of experience. Public speaker on business accelerators, entrepreneurial finance, venture capital, and open innovation. Advisor to business accelerators on selection, program content, and impact measurement. Advisor to corporates on open innovation. Advisor to startups on fundraising.
