This event features a conversation and Q&A session with Jonny Clifford, Partner and General Manager at Entrepreneur First in London, on Entrepreneurial Teams.
Jonny will share insights on the key factors that determine the success of entrepreneurial teams, drawing from extensive experience at Entrepreneur First. Over the past nine years, Jonny has supported founders at Entrepreneur First, helping them identify the right co-founders, develop the right ideas, and leverage the right skill sets to succeed.
This lecture series focuses on the role of finance in the entrepreneurial journey. The aim is to improve our understanding of the role of early-stage financiers in the start-up and scale-up of new ventures. Discussions will touch upon several research topics like the types of constraints that limit the start and growth of new companies, and the role of specialized financiers, as well as policy, in mitigating them.

Jonny Clifford is a seasoned expert in entrepreneurial team dynamics and co-founder success. With nine years at Entrepreneur First, Jonny has helped countless founders build high-performing teams by identifying the right co-founders, honing impactful ideas, and aligning skill sets for success. He has supported companies that have raised over $100M in seed funding such as Atlas ML, FabricNano, Intropic, Sonantic and Unitary. Before his tenure at Entrepreneur First, Jonny led the sales team at Satchel, a UK-based edtech startup, where he was among the first employees.
Juanita González-Uribe is Associate Professor in Finance at the London School of Economics. Her research focuses on entrepreneurship, private equity and innovation. Her work spans different regions including Latin America, the UK, and the USA.
