As in much of Eastern Europe, Bulgaria's growth rate after the eurozone crisis has remained at half the previous growth rate. Efforts to increase economic prospects rely primarily on finding new ways to finance innovation and entrepreneurship. Mr Dobrev will highlight several such financing initiatives.

Simeon Djankov is Executive Director of the Financial Markets Group at LSE and was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Bulgaria 2009-13. Djankov was chief economist of the finance and private sector vice-presidency of the World Bank.
